This week the SAMUNC 2014 Press Reps have been hard at work communicating the details and outcomes of the discussions among delegates but that’s not all what we have been keeping our eye on.
As always when business attire is a requirement, an internal conflict is sparked: the desire to show off your own personal style battles with the urge to conform to the guidelines. It’s safe to say that both the ladies and the gentlemen have stepped up to this challenge.
- MONOCHROME PRINTS:
What is better than taking the traditional black and white colour scheme of business attire and using it to stand out from the crowd? From spots to box print to stripes, the ladies of SAMUNC have sported these in the form of skirts, fitted blazers and on occasion both to make bold and surprisingly chic fashion statements.
- SPLASHES OF COLOUR:
This has been a trend that the gents of SAMUNC have dominated. Not only has this been done through the traditional bright or novelty print ties, but even more effectively through the abundance of pastel coloured shirts. It perfectly complements the lovely spring weather even from inside.
The finishing touches that tie together an outfit have been very bold and surprising. Big statement heels for the ladies have been made possible thanks to the sunshine, and whether it’s traditional heels or wedges it definitely adds a dramatic edge.
Scarves and sunnies have also been popular among all making it possible to momentarily dress down the formal attire when out on social events or lunching.
Notable mentions also include the incorporation of traditional attire and accessories which never go unnoticed and the handful of incredibly iridescent cufflinks being sported by some gents.
